About

Park Meadows Academy

Located in Corsicana, TX., Park Meadows Academy is the premier Christian education option in the south of Dallas area. With the challenging A Beka Book curriculum and additional studies in Spanish, fine arts, leadership and career, and more, PMA provides one of the most valuable educations in Texas.

Having had the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum (ACE) for many years, PMA has now launched a traditional style school which began fall of 2013.  PMA is currently using the A Beka Book Curriculum for the elementary and junior high levels, and a unique combination of both ACE and A Beka curriculum for the high school levels.

As a ministry of Park Meadows Church, PMA seeks to develop lifelong learners through superior academics, a well-rounded curriculum and a focused emphasis on spiritual growth and Biblical training. Christian teachers focus on the spiritual and educational growth of their students with interactive learning techniques. Mission Statement

The mission of PMA is to provide a protected learning environment for children to hear the Truth of God’s Word and practice it in their daily activities.  With the understanding that the Bible is the original textbook, PMA establishes a solid academic foundation for greater academic growth and effective citizenship within the larger community.  Starting at the Kindergarten level, PMA instills a Biblical mindset imperative for a child to have before they step out in the world.  Conversely, the opposite is true for many other schools. Equivalent to placing a toddler into a car before learning how to drive, many schools suffer as worldly illogical concepts have permeated instruction at every level. As a result, those environments often cultivate self-edification, the removal of absolutes, and lowering of standards as a whole.  Instead PMA refines an individual’s unique qualities in order to contribute the body as a whole.  In this way a child can live a productive life for the LORD.

Admissions policies will reflect what the school is able to do for those children admitted.  Attention will be given in the following two areas:

1. Edification

PMA is dedicated to the edification of children in accordance with Ephesians 4:12:  “For the perfecting (equipping) of the saints for the work of the ministry. . .” Therefore, attention will be given to spiritual growth and development, equipping children to live a life of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Every effort will be made to develop within children a spiritual knowledge base for making wise decisions about life and to develop both the spiritual and natural gifts of each child to a level appropriate for the future.

2. Education

PMA is dedicated to the education of children in accordance with the broad areas of development stated in Luke 2:52:“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”   Therefore, attention will also be given to the mental, physical, and social growth of children. The primary purpose of the academic program is to prepare students for some form of education beyond high school, perhaps Christian education, liberal arts education, or vocational education. Those choosing not to continue education beyond high school will be advanced academically for functioning as an adjusted and productive citizen of this nation.

Park Meadows is dedicated to assisting parents in their God-given responsibility of educating their children. Despite the weekday schedule, Park Meadows functions with a homeschool mindset.  This requires parents to remain active and engaged.

We recognize it is not a parent’s direct responsibility to have Godly children. Rather, it is a parent’s duty to make sure their children have Godly parents. Proverbs 20:7 states: “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.“ Furthermore, Colossians 3:20 reminds us: “Children, obey your parents in ALL things for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” Since your children are called to obey ALL, what example are you, the parent, setting in ALL things?  Take homework for example.  Modeling perseverance, completing tasks on time, and exuding a zest to learn will provide the foundational platform for your child to succeed.  If a parent gets frustrated or quits; the child will be just as likely to do the same.

Park Meadows recognizes there will be subject matter or assignments parents may not know or have forgotten. It is our responsibility to provide the help parents require.  Seek that help, accomplish the task, and grow with your child.

We run the race together.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all by might.  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when you sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Proverbs 22:6:  “Train up a child in the way should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Ephesians 6:4:  “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Admission

Students are accepted on the basis of available space, their character, and scholastic record; without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin; and a genuine desire on the part of the parents to have their child in a Christian school. Only those children whom we feel will adjust to our particular program, and whose parents agree to cooperate fully with the teachers and administration, will be admitted.

Statement of Faith

Believing the Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final source of authority in matters of faith, principle and practice (II Timothy 3:16, 17), we abide by the following statements of faith:

PMA Donations

Park Meadows Academy will be serving area families by providing a quality Christian education.  Through the years, scores of young people have graduated from the School with a strong Biblical and academic foundation, equipped to pursue God's will for their lives.

Even though the cost of education has escalated, PMA will continue to keep the possibility of a private, Christian education a reality for many families.
